This document was created by Davey Resource Group on behalf of Wake County to serve as a planning document for the next 10 years. More specifically, to first inform the planning department and citizens of Wake County at large with information on tree canopy changes. The second goal is to provide a system for prioritizing where tree plantings should occur for maximum benefit to citizens at large, This was a collaborative effort amongst multiple Davey Resource Group offices and multiple employees within each office.Â

The above image is representative of a regular workflow while working with Davey Resource Group. This map contains a manually georeferenced PDF of a soil survey originally published in 1980. The NRCS streams are then overlaid on the map. Next, the Parcel and Project boundaries are overlaid on the map. Finally, roads and highways are overlaid to provide further context as to the location of the map in present day.
